World of Change

Today ended a long chapter in my life....that of a staff nurse at St. Francis Hospital. 7 years is a long time. It is bitter sweet going from staff to on-call position. And just what am I doing with my life you ask? Well, if I haven't told you and Kate hasn't told you... I am moving on to the big city. Going to play in the big leagues. Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) is a level 1 trauma center. I have been invited to join the Burn Unit staff. Wow. But I ramble of course. St. Francis has taught me 75% of what I know about nursing. It taught me some very hard facts of life. It also increased my maturity in dealing with people. I found that some nurses do eat their young and I finally learned how to deal with intimidating people. The hardest part about this change in the change process is leaving my St. Franie family that I see everyday...But here is what I feel in my heart: I believe in myself and I am ready for a challenge.
